Temporay Closure of the Village Hall

We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in obtaining a grant from the Northern Powergrid Foundation to install solar panels and battery storage facilities. This will provide increased resilience to power outages, moves to a more sustainable energy source and helps to reduce our energy costs, thereby enabling us to continue to keep hire costs at the current level.

Installation of the equipment is scheduled for week commencing 16th March 2026.

There will be contractors on site with equipment and vehicle movements in the car park and work on and around the building from Monday 16th to Thursday 19th March, weather permitting. As a result, in the interests of all hall users safety, the hall will be totally closed for the period.

Whilst the play area remains open, extra care should be taken when accessing the play area through the car park.

Vacancies

Do you want to help keep this essential community facility open and available for varied user groups and events? Can you spare a few hours? We are currently looking for volunteers to undertake the roles of Caretaker and Treasurer. 

The Treasurer will be a committee role and the holder will become a trustee of the charity. 

Ideally the holder of the Caretaker post will join the committee as a charity trustee but this is not essential.

THE OUTREACH POST OFFICE HOLDS TWICE WEEKLY SESSIONS. WEDNESDAY 1:00PM UNTIL 4:00PM AND FRIDAY 9:00AM UNTIL 12 NOON. 

The village hall is available for hire for regular group users; weddings; parties; charity fund raising events; dances; exhibitions and craft fairs; amateur dramatics; bingo; concerts and many others. 

The Hall is licensed to accomodate up to 120 people seated at tables and we have sufficient tables, chairs, crockery, glasses and cutlery for this number.
